Hello! I am the Marilyn J. Gittell Postdoctoral Fellow in Urban Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center. As a sociologist, I study political economy and institutional change, focusing on tax coalitions, urban power, and redistribution. I am especially interested in questions of legitimacy, and in how people organize across episodes of crisis and collective action.
My research has been supported by the Center for Engaged Scholarship (Dissertation Fellow) and the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE Early Career Workshop, 2025).
I earned my M.A. and Ph.D in Sociology from the University of Washington in Seattle, and my B.A. in Sociology from Boğaziçi University in İstanbul.
